The Diemtigtal valley historical & cultural trail

Description

The historical and cultural trail showcases a selection of lifestyles and epochs in the Diemtigtal valley.
At eight stages, those who are interested can find out interesting facts about the Alpine economy, cattle, horse and goat rearing, the local trades and industry, art and culture, wood building, tourism, important buildings and lifestyles. The time epoch stretches back into the middle stone age. The path shows how around 10,000 years ago, prehistoric settlers made their way into the then glaciated Diemtigtal valley on the search for food and found shelter beneath the Eyeriedschopf in Zwischenflüh. Objects recovered during archaeological digs such as tools made from stone and bones provide proof that people lived in the Diemtigtal valley in the middle stone age.

The trail is 1 km in length and leads from the Brätlistelle (grill area) in Anger (bus stop) to the Eyeriedschopf with an overall ascent of 80 meters.
