Description

Listen to the ringing of cowbells, breathe in the fresh mountain air, feel lush grass under your feet, gaze at the most beautiful valleys of the Lake Lucerne Region, and taste homemade cheese specialties in a cozy alpine pub. This is hiking with all five senses.
Throughout the summer, traditional Alpine dairies by the side of enjoyable hiking trails in the Lake Lucerne region attract visitors. Enjoy delicious kinds of cheeses, such as alpine, fried or goat, and relaxing moments in cozy alpine pubs.

Niederrickenbach is the ideal starting point in the hiking paradise of Maria-Rickenbach. From Dallenwil you ascend with the old-timer aerial cable car to the Musenalp. There you will find the Alpine Dairy Musenalp, where not only the cheese but also the view is sensational. The Alpine Dairy Bleiki, which one passes on the 1-hour hike down to the valley, also welcomes hikers who want to make some purchases.

A somewhat longer tour starts at the Älggialp, Switzerland’s geographic center, where a circular trail leads through pristine nature and to an alpine dairy at a lake called Sachsler Seefeldsee. The hiking time is about three hours.
Group tours in alpine dairies are arranged upon request
