Indulging in wine in a historical ambience

Description

Tasting fine wines in historical surroundings – a pairing that can be found in the cellars of the Teufelhof.
A true treasure is hidden away in the “bowels” of the Teufelhof restaurant and cultural venue: the Archaeological Cellar provides an opportunity to view the impressive Basel city walls, which date back to the 11th and 13th centuries. A thrilling labyrinthine walk runs between the two medieval city walls with findings from various centuries exhibited in display cases. The city’s history comes alive for all to experience up close at any time. The historically significant walls also house the Falstaff wine shop, which offers some 400 wines – including a number of coveted finds.
