On the theme trail from Bettmeralp to the village of Betten, visitors get closer to the early inhabitants of the region with every step and learn how the inhabitants of Betten used to live.

En route hikers walk alongside Alpine meadows and past the mountain pastures "Ried" and "Domo", which give a vivid impression of the life of yesteryear. On nine informational panels, two local children, "Aletscha" and "Aletschander", tell about the bygone days in the village and on the Alp. The sun-blackened larch-wood houses in the mountain village of Betten beckon to hikers to take a break after the 2.5-hour walk and stroll through the village.
