Description

This elegant city park with its majestic trees, carefully placed sculptures and beautifully cultivated flowers acts as a green lung in the centre of the city.
In the 18th century, what is now the City Park was laid out in gardens with small houses offering weekend or summertime accommodation. The narrow „Baroque houses“date back to this era.

The present-day park was established in the sixties after a design competition was held. Several tree-rarities make the park a special place to visit. So here you will find American sequoias, a laciniate beech, a genuine sugar maple and a rare horse chestnut.
