Pilatus Flower Trail

Description

Up high on Pilatus, the flora is extraordinarily rich. The landscape resembles a wild garden full of flowers, through which you can hike along a designated path dotted with signs providing information on plant species, their blooming periods and Latin names.
The Flower Trail starts at Hotel Pilatus Kulm and ends at Tomlinshorn. It is mostly south of the main ridge and is secured on the outside along its entire length. With the exception of the final stretch to Tomlishorn, the trail is paved. Along the way, you will encounter a huge variety of flowers, including whitlow grass, bellflower, mountain avens and fairy foxglove. Notice boards provide information about the flora, colours and blooming periods. The trail is open from June to October.
The Flower Trail is a gift from Pro Pilatus, which manages the project in collaboration with Pilatus Bahnen AG. Pro Pilatus is an association whose main aim is the protection of the Pilatus region, where all alpine plants are protected.
