A cable car experience for the young – and for the young at heart!

Description

Above Fanas in Prättigau, the small aerial cableway opens onto a hiking area above the fog that gets more than its fair share of sunshine, particularly during the winter. Whether you opt to savour a platter of cold cuts on the sun terrace or embark on a winter hike, the little cable car is worth a trip in itself.
Starting at Landquart, the region of Prättigau snakes its way in a north-easterly direction into the heart of Graubünden. From the picturesque mountain village of Fanas, one of the few small aerial cableways in Graubünden opens onto a magnificent hiking area. The area is usually above the fog, even in winter, and receives above-average levels of sunshine.

The upper station of the aerial cableway lies at 1,700 metres above sea level and is the ideal starting point for various winter hikes or walks. Connoisseurs will love sitting on the sun terrace of the Sassauna mountain restaurant and tucking into a delicious platter of cold cuts as their gaze wanders over the panorama below. Here, everything is a part of the overall experience: the train, the journey and the view.
With a journey time of one hour from St. Gallen or Zurich, the charming aerial cableway is easy to get to and is an ideal refuge for those wishing to escape the fog. On sunny weekends, we recommend making a reservation and having a look at the timetable.
